Our Netherlands Home

Chris arrived in the Netherlands on May19th. He set to finding a house big enough for us, our stuff and lots of guests. It took almost no time for him to find Sliehof...yes the house has a name. Sleihof is actually the name of the house, barn, farm and the general area. It was built in 1913 as a cattle farm and sold in 1992 to our landlord who has turned the surrounding land into a potato, wheat and sugar beet farm. In addition to having it's own name, it is in the Dutch village of Bingelrade, only a half mile from the German border in the Limburg Province of The Netherlands. The house is almost directly between two of the nearby bases, one being where Chris works and the other where the commissary, BX, post office, etc., are.

The front garden, taken from the roadside gate.
The name of the farm/house is above the large
window.

The foyer windows..the front door is to the right
of the house.
