We took mom and dad to see Mount Vernon on the 27th. During the holidays, the third floor of the house is open and the halls are decked with boughs of holly. Given the time in which George Washington lived there, they didn't decorate with Christmas trees, so there wasn't one in the house. Things were kept very simple back then! We had a very mild day and enjoyed being able to walk the grounds, too.
