Football and Voetbal

Although the boys attend an international school, there is still an American football team. While the school band is small, they turn out to the home games to play the national anthems (Canadian, Dutch and American) and lots of spirit music from the stands.

The AFNORTH Lions actually made it to the championship game for their division, but lost after a valiant effort.

To put things into perspective....the band is standing in front of the football team. :-)

Homecoming weekend was fun for the kids. Many activities were planned, including a pep rally. I took some photos of the band, of course!

The spirited trumpets stand to play.

We can't ignore what folks here know as 'real' football. Will played on the team run by the International Youth Club on base. While it was one of the most poorly run programs we've seen, Will enjoyed playing...even in the rain, as you can see below.
